2006 Fiesta 1.3 ABS Problem

Featured Replies

Hello,

im currently having quite a problem with my 2006 Facelift Fiesta 1.3. Some time after it got a new battery due to drain, the ABS, Handbrake and CheckEngine light came on while driving. In addition to that the Odometer went to zero and on the trip computer only dashes were visible. When reading out the DTC, I got the Codes U2197 and U2200 for invalid speed and mileage data, U0121 no communication with ABS module, and B1318 low battery voltage. Also the ABS unit was not able to perform a self test and all fuses and relays are intact.
I changed the ABS unit with a second hand one, unfortunately only the part number from the pump matches but the number for the module is now 10.0970-0132.3 instead of the original 10.0970.0117.3.
After installing it, the error stayed but in ForScan I am able to perform a ABS self test, during which a sound from the ABS pump is also clearly audible. Could it be that even though the second hand unit works, there now is a communication issue with the ABS module due to mismatching part numbers? Is it possible to recode the new ABS module?

Kind regards and thanks in advance 🙂

Yes.

You can't just swap ABS units (even with identical part numbers).
