Wondering if someone can help…

My back passenger door ever now and then doesn’t open, it doesn’t open from inside or out. I’ve tried locking unlocking but doesn’t do anything and then all of a sudden (few hours or days later) it decides to open again. Dealership said they done diagnostics on it but as it wasn’t doing it at the time didn’t find anything, so now I’m playing a game of when it decides to do it, finding a garage that can see me then and there to see if they can figure it out but understandable can’t. 
 

Wondering if anyone could give any insight if this would even show on a diagnostic or if it’s generally more of a mechanical fault that maybe wouldn’t show.
