2001 1.25 Gearbox oil leak

I have an issue where by when it goes on a motorway or dual carrange way it likes to chuck out gearbox oil onto the passenger wheel, driveshaft etc. 

 

I just wondered if there was a common issue? 

Seams to be a lot of oil between the gearbox and bell housing. I nipped up the 13mm bolts today. Will monitor.

 

There is still some oil in it, just dropped the level.

 

Last time I checked the level it was spot on. (just below the plug)

    Sounds messy!  I don't know the Mk5 Fiesta, but sounds likely the driveshaft oil seal has failed. Hopefully you might find a guide on YouTube to give you some help.

    Had a look at the breather today. 
     

    seams to be flawed, the vent hole is blocked by metal.  I stuck a bit of wire under it to create a gap for a vent. 
     

    added 250ml of oil.  Enough but below level plug. 

    Found something on the internet that said the breathers had been fitted wrong at the factory

    yesterday I fitted a clear pipe into the top of the gearbox.
