@paul1980 how did the gearbox replacement go? Hope it’s a success story for you.

Interestingly, mine has got worse, and feels to me more like a clutch problem, it was slipping like crazy reversing up a slight incline.  I’m sure it’s no coincidence, but I was checking my MOT history to then discovery there is a recall, first I’d heard about it, and it’s for a clutch issue.  Unfortunately the recall sounds as though it’s just a software fix for safety, not a fix to the clutch itself.  At 90k I could accept clutch replacement, but with no guarantee that would solve the problem, and even if it did, I could still need to replace the gearbox a week later, I think I’ll just cut my losses and move on.  Bye Ford, nice car, shame about the transmission, shame you did not replace all those gearboxes when you discovered the issue.

I just wish there was a class action lawsuit in the uk so I could recover some of the loss, the more I search, the more I find how much it has impacted a lot of people, surely there is a no win no fee company who would be interested in taking this on like they did in the US and Australia.

So far so good, not too bad of a job to replace either, hardest part was just the actual weight of the gearbox itself lol. No need to fully remove subframe as it is sectioned and you jist need to remove 1 part of it and then there is plenty of room

Fluid was changed according to service schedule, but from what I’ve been reading, should probably have been done more frequently than that. I’m now 75% sure it’s a clutch issue, which I’d accept, clutches wear, but TBH, I’ve lost confidence in it, especially after reading Ford eventually stopped using that gearbox and went to a traditional auto, even the clutch repair seems expensive, and I’d hate to repair that just to find 10k-20k later more problems arise with the gearbox.  Also lost confidence in Ford, who didn’t even mention the clutch, just said the gearbox needs replacing.  So for me, time to move on from Ford. Hopefully I will get a few quid from WBAC.  I’ll post what I get for it for those that might have the same issue.

My Ford C-max 2011 Diesel, 6speed Automatic transmission is showing Transmission limited fuunction. After scanning, It shows Auto shift manual adaptaive learning not done. i removed the battery and scanned again, no it has added two more.

1. Unable to select 6th gear.

2. Fork Stuck.

what could be the problem?

My guess would be the selector fork is stuck 🤔

I will ask my usual boring question, what is the history of ownership and oil and filter changes, including the condition of he old filter element (which is, apart from wiring issues and battery voltage/condition - both needing checking) is the only thing that can be done externally?
