Fitting OEM power-fold mirrors to Mk7.5 Fiesta

Featured Replies

So I've had my 2013 Fiesta Zetec for nearly 2 months (although only had it on the road for the past 2 weeks whilst waiting for insurance to start).

Despite being a Zetec it didn't have any additional extras added to it when new. Doesn't even have a Bluetooth/Sync!

I'm looking at installing power-fold mirrors on it. I know I will need the actual power-fold mirrors, and the power-fold switch to go with it (all from a facelift MK7), then some activating in Forscan.

I'm aware from looking at previous posts about the same topic, some say you need a relay or at least a compatible fuse box for it to work, however that is on the pre-facelift MK7 and it seems the MK7.5 only has one type of passenger fuse box.

Can someone confirm if installing power-fold mirrors requires any additional fuses, relays or wiring that may not be there already, or will the mirrors be powered by the BCM on the MK7.5?

Power fold mirrors are more complex than you might first think. From memory I believe that on the 3 door Fiesta they are controlled from the BCM. The Zetec model is fairly low spec in terms of trim, and it's unlikely that the extra wiring for the power fold mirrors will be there. You may have to replace the BCM with one from the Titanium or even the Titanium X which supports that function.

Powerfold mirrors were an optional extra on the Zetec. Can speak for my self on this as my Grandad's old Fiesta Zetec 2014 had powerfold mirrors.

If I have to go down the route of replacing the BCM, would this require specialist reprogramming or is it plug and play?

Just for reference sake I've already installed cruise control with Forscan which didn't require any extra parts apart from the buttons themselves.
