Kuga auto box flywheel

Featured Replies

My pal has a 2019 Kuga 2.0l tdci with Auto box. Question is, does this vehicle have DMF. When stationary and idling its clonking like the DMF is gone. When its is engaged in drive the clonking goes away. Can anyone advise please ? TIA. Del.

Anyone ?

I don't know is the truthful answer. @DaveT70 might have an idea but information on newer models like a 2019 Kuga is very limited.

This is the only parts info I can find but it's for the previous Kuga although they may share some gearbox parts.

I believe not, but I can't be certain

The clunking may be the clutch pack about to eat itself

Ask if it's had the fluid changed

My lad is trying to find out if its worth his time trying to repair this vehicle for the owner. Last time the owner had problems with an Auto Mondeo it cost him 8.5k from the Ford stealer for a new gearbox. Hes about to trade this vehicle (Kuga ) in for new vehicle so doesnt want to be spending big again. Hes awaiting delivery (about 3 months waiting time )of his new car. Its going to be a taxi . Obviously my lad doesnt want to go down the rabbit hole of gearboxes, think the last one was a Powershift, this one isnt. If its just a DMF then thats ok but could it be the converter ? who knows.

If it isn't a PS then it won't have a DMF definitely, clunking will be torque converter

£2047 + VAT Coast clutch doge kit its called + £130 surcharge then £200 for oil + labour.......NEVER EVER  buy anything with an auto box of any kind. Oh, and the kicker is you need specialist tools to do the job !!
