Lock without Alarm - 2019 Fiesta

Featured Replies

Hello All,

My son has a 2019 Fiesta, and the alarm just keeps going off!  We have had it looked at, but they cannot see any problems.  Some days it's fine, other days it's going off every 5 minutes.

Is there a way we can lock the car, without enabling the alarm?

He has tried selecting 'Reduced Protection' on the alarm, but that makes no difference.

We tried changing the battery in the key fobs and WD40 on all the locks, including boot and bonnet.

We just want to lock the car without the alarm - so we can all get some sleep!

Many thanks in advance.

could you leave the bonnet on the latch to stop the alarm setting?

By who ?

If you took it to a Ford dealer they can very easily check to see what it is that has triggered the alarm system.

OR

You could use FORScan, and check yourself to see what has triggered the alarm system.

Most likely cause is the bonnet latch, but don't guess, get it diagnosed.

Regarding locking the car with out the alarm system set on the most stolen car in Britain would be foolhardy and very possibly invalidate the vehicle insurance.

yeah for me I'd look to get it sorted. disabling the alarm shouldn't be anything more than a temporary fix. forscan would be my first port of call as it would be cheaper than getting Ford to run diagnostics.

Forscan is not as cheap as you think.

..... and how expensive do you think it is? 🤔

PS: What is a Ford Model: RV1121  ?

Mine cost me the vast price of the cable from vLINKER which cost me about £30 from amazon. Cheap at half the price id say.

Yes, cost me a fortune to buy the decent lead and get the free software.

Try owning a BMW, software for these costs a real fortune

I really hope you turn out to be a OPW, I don't think I could bear another
