OEM parking sensors retrofit on a Mk7.5 Zetec

Featured Replies

I know this has been discussed previously from time-to-time, with people saying that you need a separate module (apparently not true on the facelift Mk7), and a requirement for a relay to be present in the fuse box (again not true from my own research for the Mk7.5) ...however I was in Forscan hoping to find a setting to enable powerfold mirrors for a future retrofit, I annoyingly didn't find the option for powerfold mirrors, I found a setting for parking sensors which I have pictured.

Right now I am planning on buying a Zetec S style rear bumper (the bit that comes in 2 parts) that has parking sensors and fit it to my car after it's been resprayed. The question is that would the parking sensor wiring already be there, and after that it's a couple of minutes in Forscan and it would all be working... or is there more to it?

I'm aware that certain wires need to be connected at so and so pins in the BCM, so I will check that. If all there then I will buy a Zetec S bumper in 2 or 3 months with parking sensors. It won't be any loss if it doesn't work as I am in the process anyway of fitting OEM Zetec S kit.

Also if anyone can explain the absence for the powerfold mirrors then that will be appreciated (although there was a setting called 'Mirrors autofold on lock' in the BCMii main config which is weirdly set to enabled). I've read that you may require a new BCM which is something I am not keen on doing as forking out hundreds of pounds for one to be fitted and programmed and I am not prepared to take the risk doing such my self in the event I turn my car into a giant doorstop!

Thanks everyone!
