2006 Ford Fiesta 1.4 Ghia - Rear Doors Not Central Locking

Featured Replies

Hi, help!

Just purchased a 2006 (55) Ford Fiesta 1.4 Ghia with a couple of niggles!

Firstly all the doors lock using the fob / central locking, however when unlocking the two rear doors remain locked and you have to reach in from the front to open them using the door handles??

Why would they lock but when fobbed to open remain locked (only the rear doors)

Secondly the rear parking sensors aren't working but I'll start a seperate thread on that.

Many thanks

Assuning the front passenger door unlocks, it could be wiring to the rear, or the lock motors.

If the front passenger door does not unlock, then it could be the "Unlock" Setting

My fiesta unlocks drivers door and boot with 1 push

Then all with second push

Maybe yours will be the same..or not

Front doors open fine but the two rear doors remain locked, I have to reach in behind the driver/passenger seats to pull the rear door handles to open the rear doors. If it was in 'Unlock' settings where would I find that pls?

Yep mine does the same with double tap but the rear doors remain locked unless I reach in from the front and open the doors with the door handle. The entire car locks perfectly fine on the remote its just the rear doors don't for some reason!

It is the Owner's Manual.

This is from the Fusion book -the Fiesta might be the same

You can reprogram the unlocking function
so that only the driver's door is unlocked
or all doors are unlocked. Press the lock
and unlock buttons on the remote control
at the same time for four seconds with
the ignition switched off. The direction
indicators will flash twice as confirmation.

Cheers mate, just tried it and that didn't work, I'll check out the manual shortly to see if it says any different, thanks for the responses. 🙂

I've tried it too.......

..............and it did not work either !

It seems you do it using the information display ?

I will try tomorrow and report back .....

Yes, it worked.

Just enter the settings menu, and there it was.

I don't have anything in my settings menu everything relates to audio. What the hell am I doing wrong? I'm thinking faulty rear door actuators?

Right forget my last message, found the menu on the end of the indicator stalk and its already set to 'All Doors' and still doesn't open the rear doors! So I'm going to be looking for rear door switches/actuators....!

Good Luck with that, I have not changed any rear lock motors, but I have done two front doors, one on a Fusion, and one on a Fiesta.  Fault on both was false "Door Open" indications.  This stops you being able to lock the car.

It is quite a palaver, I found the Haynes quite useful.
