2006 Ford Fiesta 1.4 Ghia - Parking Sensors Not Working?

Featured Replies

Hi again!

Just purchased a 2006 (55) Ford Fiesta 1.4 Ghia and the reversing sensors don't work?

Do I need to check the fuse if so where is it or what else could it be?

Many Thanks

They are probably fed from the reversing lights.  Do you get a beep when you engage reverse ? Are they factory (could be Bosch)or after market ?

Hi, they are factory fitted and no beep when I select reverse!

If the reversing lights work, then the gearbox switch is probably OK,

Do all the connections to the control box look secure ?

Ok being a complete novice where is the control box located?

Also just checked and I have no reversing light?

Gearbox switch has probably failed in that case.

It's in the front of the box.  Just unplug it and bridge the two pins together in the plug.  Then when you switch ignition on you should get reverse lights and parking sensor beep.  That would prove the switch is faulty.

Cheers mate, I've just bought another reverse switch from GSF for £9 and I'll replace it tomorrow. Everything is now pointing to a faulty switch!

There is a fuse - F48.

There should be a fuse layout decal on the back of the glove box.

Controlbox is probably in the spare wheel well.

I checked the fuse first and that was all ok, I'll try the switch and see how I go....

All sorted! It was simply the 'Reverse Switch' which I purchase from GSF for £9. The minute the new one was plugged in everything work...reverse lights, beep when reverse is selected and working reverse sensors! Thanks for the messages. 🙂
