Mk8 Fiesta air intake pipe

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Took my four-wheeled friend (2018 / 68 1.5tdci) to kwik fit today for an oil & filter change. Had a check under bonnet after bringing it home, and noted that they don't seem to have put the air filter intake pipe back together properly.

At the air filter end there's a small gap on underside where the pipe doesn't look fully slotted in, and at t'other there's a gap about 1cm across where it looks like a lug should've clicked in but hasn't.

Am thinking to order a new pipe, take it back and ask them to fit it but am just wondering how easy it would be to replace myself?

Most likely i couldn't (am not very mechanical) but thought I'd ask.

Part number of what I'm droning on about is H1B1 9C676 BB if this helps.

Why don't you simply ask them to put it back together properly ?

If they have broken it and it needs replaced then that's their problem, not yours.

Thanks unofix  - that's an option but one snag is that the part in question seems to be particularly cheap crappy plastic. It looks like it's made in 2 halves then clipped and 'plastic welded' together so it's easy to crack, which looks like it's started to happen at the air filter end on mine. Have ordered replacement as an insurance in case existing one can't be put back as should be.
