new crankshaft sensor too wide ?

Featured Replies

Hi folks trying to change the crankshaft sensor in my lads 07 reg fiesta

its got the right electrical connector fitting but is just too wide to fit into the engine block

measured old and new ones  old = 13.45mm  new 13.78mm

not OEM stock got it from ebay, all those on ebay look the same

any tips, thought about freezing new one but fear it wil get stuck if I did that

Is there any corrosion on the block?  Try a small round file in the hole if possible.

Otherwise just buy a genuine one.

thanks, in the end I've rubbed sandpaper on the outer cover of the sensor (to reduce the diamater of the sensor,

due to angle of the sensor hole in the block I couldn't get a file or drill bit in to ream the hole

fits and works
