'Oil change soon'

Featured Replies

My 2019 ST is throwing up this message at me and when I look in the menus it says oil life 4% (I notice there is a manual reset button?) However, checked my dipstick and it's showing at MAX and the car only had a service in Feb when I purchased it. I've done like 1.5K miles since then so not a massive amount. Has anyone had experience with this? Does it actually need an oil change or could it be that it was never reset when it was last changed?

Thanks!

Oil level has nothing to do with that message.

It means that the oil life wasn't reset when it was serviced.... or it wasn't serviced.

Car was defo serviced - i purchased from main dealer and book is stamped

Prior to this i was driving an old banger that wouldn't of had the intelligence to have this message so it's new to me.

I'll get it checked by a garage and reset the light

👍

If you are certain that the Oil was changed and it should still be a lovely golden colour, not black then the selling Garage should be switching it off for you.

Failing that then there may be a function in the Instrument Cluster to Reset The Oil Life.

If not then with the doors closed switch the Ignition on, press the Brake and Accelerator Pedals fully down and keep them there for about 20 seconds and you should see a message the the Oil Life has been reset.
