How easy is it to replace a Fuel Filter on a 2012 Fiesta?

Featured Replies

I have very basic knowledge when it comes to cars, I do all the simple changes myself such as pollen & air filters, spark plugs etc. But how easy is it to replace the fuel filter? I don't even know where it is in my engine.

Ford Fiesta Zetec S 2012 1.6 Petrol

Over the last few weeks/months my car has been really struggling with acceleration, juttery, stuttering etc. Feels so sluggish but I know that my air filter and spark plugs are new & all working fine. So my searches lead me to believe it will most likely be my fuel filter or fuel injectors.

Not easy to change the filter....   it doesn't have one except for the gauze filter attached to the fuel pick up on fuel pump in the tank.

I would be checking the h.t leads.

Thank you. I will start with the ht leads and then look into the coil pack. Just hoping to get it sorted before my MOT in June.

Yeah I wouldn't be thinking fuel filter. I remember removing one from a 15yr old car and it was as clean as a whistle. I think with better quality station tanks and plastic car tanks these days you just don't get the issues of years gone by.

My car was doing similar a while back.  Changed all the usual suspects - plugs etc, but it still persisted.

Cleaning the MAF sensor sorted it though, so another option to look at.
