MK 7.5 1.0 Ecoboost A/C Gas amount

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me the correct amount of gas for a 2016 MK 7.5 1.0 Ecoboost 140 bhp air con?

I tried google but couldn't find a definitive answer.

Well it would depend if you are filling from empty or just 'toping up'

The A/C label under the bonnet will tell you which gas your system uses, and probably the amount of gas needed when the system has been vacuumed empty by an A/C machine.

I'd strongly recommend that you let a garage (for example Kwikfit) who have the equipment to recharge the system, do the work.

I was looking for the capacity from empty, I wasn't going to attempt it myself. It was for reference if there was any problems.

The label says what kind of gas but not quantity.

For anyone else wondering it is 610-630 (source: Haynes Manuel)

On a 2016 model you should have a label like the one below. It shows the quantity of gas by weight.

That's what I was expecting to find but in the place of that is a small sticker about the size of your thumb that states the type of gas and that is all.

The type of gas on that sticker you posted is for the newer gas R-1234yf. The gas that goes in mine is the old type R134A. I'm guessing the two stickers are different depending on what type of gas you have.
