Pre collision assist not available

Featured Replies

Hey guys

Has anyone had there pre collision assist become not available even after cleaning the grill and there's nothing obstructing it too as I have now getting it pop up constantly on my 72 plate fiesta and the only thing I can think of is that it's error code as driving normally it would alert that I was close to another car when there wasn't anything infront of me and also alerting me when I was overtaking hgvs on a A road again with nothing infront of me which would have set it off.

Any idea what the fix is as its booked in for a diagnostic check at local vertu dealership bit sort of expecting a bill for a potential repair even though it's still got orginial ford warranty in place

Probably need a battery.

See if the camera on the windscreen is clean?

Sensor/camera at the top of the windscreen covered in dead bugs ?

All clean as washed the car when I washed the grill and left it over night in hope that it fixed itself bit nope just having to wait a week today to get it in the local dealer and hopefully its a simple fix which will be under warranty

Oh hopefully covered under warranty then but guessing not though

Very, very slight maybe.

If it isn't buy and fit your own, much cheaper

Any idea where this battery is fitted as I am guessing it isn't the one under the bonnet which powers mostly everything as that's fine as had it checked out

That's the one I'm on about, main 12v

Probably needs to go in then, camera fault or software

Have you actually checked the battery voltage?

My experience over 7 years with 2 Mk 8 Fiestas, is that, unless you're doing a substantial mileage on a regular basis, periodic battery charging is necessary.

A multimeter and a smart battery charger (Maypole, Noco, C-tek, etc) are virtually essential with these cars.

Was the module that failed so replacement is now on order after a few resets and test drives to see if the resets worked which seen in the ford app that there was more pre collision assist notification popping up everytime they tried something

Yes as the battery when I bought the car had started to have issues starting so replaced with a new battery and that was 2 months ago but problem sorted and fix incoming when the local dealership has got the replacement module instock
