MK7 Sports Cat on MK8 1.0 EcoBoost

I have found a good deal on a mk7 1.0 cobra sports cat, would this fit on the mk8 or would it be a cut and weld job to make it fit? thanks

    If your Mk8 is the wetbelt type then it should still fit.

    Later chain type cat is totally different.

    The MK7 1.0 ECOboost cat is also not going to be a direct fit onto the MK8 1.0 ECOboost wetbelt engine.

    Yes, it does fit onto the turbocharger but the shape and dimensions are slightly different. Apart from that the MK7 has a flange mount and the MK8 has a clamp mount at the exhaust side.


    To make the MK7 cat fit onto the MK8 welding is required.

    so it would be possible to screw onto the turbo and at the exhaust side but just need work to get the mounting correct?

    No, it will not fit at the exhaust side.

    Different dimensions (pipe lenght / pipe angles) and a flange mount (MK7) VS a clamp mount (MK8).
