Diagnostic Code P0201

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a 2007 Fiesta Zetec and sometimes the engine light flashes or stays on then goes off again.

I used my diagnostic tester which showed code P0201 with the message 'injector circuit / open cylinder 1' .

Has anyone else had this problem and if so could you give me an idea of how much this could cost to repair please? Best and worst case scenario.

The car will be 18 this year and I wonder if it's worth spending a lot on.  Thanks.

Hi,

Is it petrol or diesel?

Hi TomsFocus

It's Petrol 1.2 engine.

Thank you.  Used injectors are very cheap for those.  You can buy 4 injectors on the fuel rail for about £30.  So personally I would just try swapping those over first

If that doesn't solve it then you'd be looking at a wiring fault instead.  That may be a simple broken wire near the top of the injector, easily fixed with a bit of solder and shrinkwrap, or it could be deeper within the wiring loom, or potentially even within the ECU itself.

So as a rough estimate it could be £30 to £500.  Not sure that helps much!

Thanks Tom that's very helpful.  It will have to be done at a garage so of course there'll be labour etc on top of that.  I trust them though so they'd only do the necessary work.

It's been a great little car but sadly wear and tear is starting to cost more than it's worth now.  Time to part company with it I think.😟
