Ford Fiesta Mk8 Ticking Noise (Pics Attached)

Featured Replies

Hi All,

When on full lock and moving forward or reversing, I can hear a ticking noise. The noise is audible during hot, dry days. However, when raining or wet, I can't hear the noise. Please see attached pics from under the car on both sides.

It happened a year ago and a garage added silicone grease to the the CV joints and the noise disappeared. After a year, the noise is back and the same garage thought it was the brakes so added copper grease to the pads. The noise is still there.

Looking online I appreciate it could be a number of things from bushes, CV joints, steering rack, strut mounts etc.

Any info would be beneficial to help me understand what is going on.

Many thanks

Pally

Any ideas anyone?

Looking at the photos above, I would be a little doubtful that they did add grease to the CV joints, but clearly whatever they did must have worked if you say the noise went away.

Does the 'ticking' change with speed ?
