Hello I hope someone can assist I have a 1996 1.25 zetec Fiesta. It looks like the reverse light switch has failed it is the two bolt 5 wire one on the bottom of the gearbox. It seems no longer available I see a blanking plug where the screws in switch might go is it possible  to fit the screw in one instead

    Any idea why a manual gearbox on a 90's car needs a 5 wire switch just for reverse lights?  First time I've heard of it.

    5 wires in harness to plug but only four connectors in switch. Seller says doesn't fit my car took old one apart housing for contacts melted so going to see if I can get one from somewhere else
