Wet belt or Timing Chain???

Hi, Looking at buying a Puma 21reg 1.0 125bhp NOT MHEV  The dealer assures me its a timing chain and said anything after 2018 is chain.  I thought it was 2022 they changed to chains can anybody clarify plz???

Is he meaning just the Puma or all Ford engines ? Either way the statement is untrue. You would need to check the engine in the car to confirm.

All petrol versions of the current model Puma have chain from launch (but with a small wet belt for the oil pump drive as often mentioned).

"Anything after 2018" is incorrect. The Puma wasn't even launched then. The Mk 4 Focus got a chain on 1.0 petrol versions from launch 2018, some Fiestas from about mid-2020. 100ps and 1.1 non turbo Fiestas remained wet belt, as did the Ecosport.
