I have recently purchased a 2019 plate Ford Fiesta Trend from Arnold Clark. I have never owned a Ford before, so this could be easy fixes or even nothing to worry about. But I wanted to seek advice before going back to AC. I have noticed the engine makes quite a loud ticking sound in comparison to my last car. It seems that everything under the bonnet is shaking as well. I can obviously hear it most when the car is idle but if I don’t have music on I can still hear and feel it when driving. I also cannot get the auto start stop function to work. I’ve had the car for a week and taken it on a few decent drives but it says it still needs charged. Any advice? The battery charge will be low after sitting in an AC compound for weeks or months.  You will need a mains battery charger plugged into a house socket for 12+ hours to fully charge the battery again.

Doesn't say which engine it is, but if it's a 1.0 EcoBoost, they are noisy and rattly and shaky as standard, so there might not be anything wrong there.

It's only a gimmick, it's not expected to work, have a read of the 300 threads and thousands of posts about Stop/Start.

If you are concerned in any way get a second opinion from another garage. You will pay a fee of coarse but you will know if there is anything that needs investigating.
