Hi all,

I have a 1992 Ford Fiesta with a Sound 2000 (Model 2005) Radio cassette which needs a 3 digit code (3 lines flashing).

The one supplied with the car is a 4 digit code so must be from a different model as it doesn’t work

The serial number is FD2005 K0434443 but all the other stickers are quite worn out so hoping that’s the right one.

The other serial numbers I’ve also got from the side are

89FB-18K876-AA

0442388

I think the three dots means it's locked, too many attempts

They are flashing and I can enter a code so it’s not locked but just need to know what the code is for the serial number.

There should be four dashes

I’ve seen on most forums that the codes can either be three or four digit codes even for the same model unit.

The unit is not locked as it will let me enter a three digit code but only three lines flashing.

This is a very old Ford radio/cassette unit. They did indeed have only a 3 digit code, not 4 as later units had. There is also no limit to the number of attempts (ask me how I know 🤣) although some units will lock you out for 10 minutes after 10 failed attempts.

I see Duncan has already asked this question over on the Ford radio codes website, and if waits a day or two someone there will generate the unlock code for him.
