  • First get a new mate.
  • Second download the AsBuilt file from the Ford servers.

Do you have a link to the Ford servers or where I can get the ab file from

If you use the windows laptop version of FORScan with a licence it will do it for you automatically.

Just make sure that the laptop is connected to wifi. Look at the bottom tabs of the FORScan programming page and you will see a tab 'AB' click on that to download the files for your car.

On many Ford models the As-Built file does not contain any PCM configuration data. This is because most PCM versions are not configured by As-Built.

The As-Built data file contains configuration parameters in the hexadecimal As-Built and CCC (Central Car Configuration) format. Many modules however do also have a direct configuration. This data is not included in the As-Built data file.

This is why you always have to make a backup or screenshot before changing anything. If the required data is not present in the As-Built file there is no other way to obtain the data.

So how do I fix this

Are there any DTC codes stored?

The PCM usually only contains a limited number of configuration parameters. Can you show an overview of all available configuration parameters on your car?

The available configuration parameters combined with any possible DTC codes may give an indication of the actual problem.

The last resort will be to find an identical vehicle (with the exact same engine type, transmission type, module hardware and option level) and read the correct configuration settings from that vehicle.
