GEM error codes, advice please

Featured Replies

From a previous post my sons car has no working indicators or hazzards

there has been a recent drivers window regulator change but i can find no faults in the wiring.

I have bought a cable and ran forscan as i was suspecting the GEM module

Lots of error codes

B1300 Power door lock circuit failure

B2339 Mirror switch assembly short to ground

B2113 heated windshield switch input short to ground

B1343 Heated backlightinput circuit failure

B1875 Turn signal/hazzard switch failure

B2282 Left turn switch short to ground

B2281 Right turn switch short to ground

B2116 Reset switch driver door short to ground

B2112 Dridoor set switch short to ground

B2108 Antitheft inhibit switch failure

B1551 liftgate release circuit short to ground

B1327 Passengers door ajar circuit failure

B1319 Drivers door ajar circuit failure

I also have a PCM P1000-70

so can i use the GEM module configuration as built format?

I have tried the reboot function, its not supported

The car starts, drives it could be coincidence that the window regulator change occured just before this fault, i have disconected the drivers door harness at the A pillar and rerun tests/ tried indicators. during the GEM test the indicators can be heard flashing and seen on the dash (green triangles)

can all of this be a faulty GEM ? if so how accurate do you have to swap with? GEM info

Part number 6S6T 15K600-CL, software 2006-10-06

Again, many thanks for any advice, im stuck trying to fix his car ( on the wirral) he had to go to his new posting at Brize Norton

Tried that already but just replaced again still no joy (and fuse is intact)

Yes unfortunately.

Any replacement GEM will have to be exactly the same part except the very last letter, which can be higher but not lower. For example part 6S6T 15K600-CL could be replaced with 6S6T 15K600-CM

Check for voltage at fuses 24,25 & 27 All should have permanent battery voltage.

And from your previous post GEM service mode; Windscreen wiper switch OFF position (input mode). Press and hold HRW switch, Ignition on, release HRW switch then press it 8 times in 6 seconds.

thanks for all help so far, with youtube guiding and a few hints i found the GEM was faulty, caused by a broken wire in the loom that goes through the door A pillar

wiring fixed and a "Bought Programmed GEM" installed. Indicators and hazzards work!!!!

BUT the dash is coming up with bonnet open warning, how does it know?? there is no microswitch that i can see, only a pull cable release and secondry manual pull release no wires anywhere

is the GEM looking for a bonnet switch that doesnt exist? can i cure that with Forscan?

Many thanks in advance

Nick

That is not exactly correct. Unless someone downloaded the "AsBuilt" files for your car and then loaded them to the replacement GEM.

What you probably have is a GEM which is the same physical part as the original, and it has software from a similar car as yours.

Does your car actually have a factory fitted alarm system ?

If yes, then you most likely have a faulty bonnet latch, the microswitch is built in to the latch and not easy to see. If you don't have an alarm then the GEM is looking for something that's not there. Using FORScan you should be able to change the setting for the bonnet alarm switch.

Its my stepsons car, i cant honestly say if it has an alarm or not, the replacement GEM has conveniant stickers over the code with warranty void if peeled off, i did quote all original codes

The original GEM  6S6T-15K600-CL says on it "CONTR ASY-R/CONTR LK & ALRM   SYS MN    CTM CL RKE AS 433

** I did run forscan and save the files on the original GEM **

If you have the original AsBuilt file from the old GEM then use FORScan and load it to the replacement.
