Hey so finally got my 2009 Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCI almost ready for MOT and get hit with a Engine Malfunction Service Now! Message on the Radio Screen.
If I turn off the car and then start it again it goes away, No EML on the dash just a temporary Cog with ! inside.

This only happens when the car is under load.

A Mechanic friend ran a ODB reader on the car and there is 0 faults showing.

Anyone else had this issue?

    Get yourself set up on FORScan and the next time it flags the fault read the DTCs while the fault is live

    A bit late reply for this but to help others with similar issues.  I had this problem and it tended to do it accelerating hard, usually on motorway slip roads, the ecu also would switch to limp home mode.  It turned out to be a very small split on the right hand intercooler air pipe underneath one of the reinforcing rings.  I found it by accident trying to work out what the slight sucking noise was when running the engine with the bonnet up.  Ford replacement intercooler pipe cost is eyewatering, I ended up using a cheaper pattern part which works ok, needed some trimming and is nowhere near as good quality as the oem one.
