Fiesta ecoboost black edition

Featured Replies

Hi. Just bought a zetec s black edition ecoboost. I’ve never had a turbo car before and I’m loving it. The car has 70,000 miles on and has had the wet belt changed. I’ve just noticed when coasting along in a traffic a sort of ticking sound, what I can only describe as if you were to put a playing card in the spokes of a pedal bike and spin the wheel?! Not sure if that’s the best way to describe the noise but that’s kind of what it sounds like lol has anyone had this sound on one of these cars and could tell me if there’s anything to worry about please? Thanks

I have the Red Edition also with 70K miles now. Had mine since new. Is the ticking noise dependant on wheel speed rather than engine speed ? Last time I had that it was a stone stuck in a tyre tread.......would you believe.

Be aware that the engine also sounds terrible at idle with plenty of ticking noise although I can't hear it from inside the car. It's done that from new so I guess that's usual for that engine type.

It seems to be when I let of the accelerator and I’m coasting. As soon as I accelerate lightly it goes. I will check for any stones in the tyres or anything that could be around the wheels that could cause it, thanks

If it still does it with the clutch in then it's diff or driveshafts.
