ST Aluminium/metalic type chirp / vibration sound

Featured Replies

My ST done this since new I think and it’s been in for investigation a couple of times and nothing can be found or heard.

so from cold start drive off in 1st press clutch and a brief quick vibration type aluminium chirp noise is heard with window down, think it comes from front somewhere, definitely the process off dipping clutch is the catalyst so not sure if there’s any moving parts with clutch in the engine bay or if it’s the reduction of revs that vibrate something, maybe a heat shield?

doesn’t do it above 2nd and not when coming down gear

doesn't do it whilst parked up and reving

When car gets to operating temp it’s not heard

cars due in Monday for service & mot will get them to check again but any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully received

thanks

No thoughts at this stage I'm afraid, but it's not clear what car you are talking about here?

You've posted in the Fiesta forum, your profile says Fiesta but not an ST, and the profile pic is of a Puma?
