Leak from front of car

Featured Replies

Hi all, recently my 2012 1.25 Fiesta sprung a coolant leak, which I determined was caused by a corroded bottom radiator hose. This has been replaced and the leak seemed sorted, however yesterday I noticed a small leak from the front of the car. It's not coming from the hose or where it meets the radiator, and I have not been able to identify what fluid it is as it has soaked into the asphalt. Coolant level seems the same as before. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? Thanks

If the radiator wasn't replaced at the same time, it's probably that leaking now.  No other fluids that far forward.

The level staying the same could mean there's just an air bubble trapped where the leak is, it'll probably drop when the engine is warmed up and the thermostat opens.

Coolant tends to soak in and stain asphalt. Water tends not to. Did you move the car prior to taking the photo? If so, this could be condensate, water that is drained from the air conditioning.

Turns out the stain wasn't from my car at all - drove it for an hour yesterday then parked elsewhere and no leak has resulted. Seems somebody else in my neighbourhood needs a hose replacement! Cheers for the advice though
