spare connector plug found in boot

Featured Replies

So I was removing the ford parking sensors today and found this unused plug clipped up to the back of the boot area below the nearside rear tail lights.

They are both purple with a stripe, one being orange. Can't remember what the other was.

Does anyone know what it's for ? Probably an option the original purchaser didn't order I'm guessing.

Possibly for side sensors for the automatic parking toy

I've had a quick look at the circuit diagrams and it's not a rear sensor, I'll check to see if it's a lidar plug but it's only 2 wires and I'm sure when I lod on eBay lidar is a out 8 or more.

The diagrams off the car state it's where the TCM (telemetrics control module) connects but looking at the TCM there's no sockets that plug will fit into!

I'm going to test it for voltage / signal as there's 2 wires so could be a live and earth dunno as it's right next to an earth so wouldn't be required.

Could it be the B & O (Samsung) subwoofer plug?

Canbus data for the Trailer Towing module ?

Is a mk8 homologated for a trailer?

Well there's no voltage on the wire but it does seem to be connected to something.

Oh and it's not CAN bus as it's not a twisted pair.

Perhaps a photo of the said wires and connector might be of help ?

Oops sorry, I thought I had 😆

Ignore the black and purple wires, they are grounds terminated to the body near the connector.

There's a black cap/ body retainer cover on the end.

Curious in this aswell

It could be related to the telemetrics module which goes inside the inner wing area, on the ford diagrams it shows it but doesn't say what it is. Closest thing to it is possibly anti theft horn.
