2020 St-line 1.0 ecoboost exhaust flexi pipe

Featured Replies

Hi all!

My flexi pipe is knackered and needs replacing. Does anyone know of a flexi pipe that would fit a 2020 St-line 1.0 ecoboost? I've been searching everywhere and all the replacement kits I'm seeing have the wrong fittings (or don't say they'll fit this model). Any help much appreciated!

Hi, 2020 is the crossover year between wetbelt engine and chain engine.  If you've got a knackered flexi, that probably is the wetbelt engine (unless Ford are just rubbish at designing flexis).

Have you seen a doctor ? 🤣

Need to know if it is the wet belt engine or the timing chain engine.

I see the doc about this far too regularly...

I believe it is the awkward years, it has (I think) the chain for the camshaft and a wet belt for the oil pump drive. Based on it being identical looking to the engine Anorakmark posted here:

I can post a link to the full catalytic converter if that's useful?

Yes, that is the chain engine.  Ford must be rubbish at designing flexis as they all broke on the wetbelt engine as well...

Unfortunately I'm not sure if there is a suitable separate flexi for the chain engine yet.  You might have to measure yours to see whether any any listed would fit, rather than relying on compatibility charts.

I'm not on Facebook so can't look at this post further, but this place in Aberdeen has done one so should be able to provide a price

I've managed to find a local garage who'll do the cut and weld for £175 (hopefully!). I've heard good things about Diesel Jocks so I am feeling fairly optimistic...

I emailed Pipe Dynamics who said they don't currently make one for my particular model but they'd be willing to do a bespoke for £360.

Other garages quoted me £300-360. One said they couldn't cut and weld so quoted me £900+ for a new cat converter and flexi - pure insanity.

Thanks everyone for the help and advice 🙂

The second link there is definitely for the old wetbelt engine.

First one might be chain type though.

The Facebook link looks exactly like my Flexi pipe. The second link definitely wouldn't fit. So I've learnt a few new things about my Ford this week!

The Facebook post has definitely made me feel a lot better about the chances of getting this fixed with a bit of welding.
