A bigger turbocharger

Featured Replies

Hi to all  does anyone recommend putting a bigger turbo on a 1.0ltr ecoboost just to ask

I think Ford will have spent a lot of time and effort matching the turbo exactly to the engine and mapping the fuel etc so i vote no  😁

Someone selling bigger turbos for 1.0 EcoBoosts would probably recommend fitting one.  The rest of us?  Probably not...

Why? A simple remap (if you must) would give you around 150 hp for £300 or so.

Bigger turbo would be part of the package if pushing for 200 hp, eg:

Thanks to u all I really appreciate the input I wudnt remap a car again last one I did I spent nearly £800 on it yesterday it had power when it wasnt in limp mode which it kept going in every time I started it it wudnt go over 3,000 revs and wudnt go any faster than 25 miles an hour cheers though guys and girls for the advice

I vote YES !!!

Get a bigger turbo 👍 The bigger the better and then when the little 1.0 engine explodes it will really go with an EcoBOOM 🎉

Has anyone seen the videos on YouTube from the Bedford ford show looks majorly awesome

I have the Puma speed hybrid turbo and map on my 2015 fiesta and it's been a fantastic upgrade. I have covered around 55,000 miles with it now and it's going very well. Only downside for this upgrade is the cost as you need a full exhaust with sports cat along with the turbo and intercooler. On a stock engine it's wise to ask them for a slight detune from the 205 bhp.

Thanks, yes, it's a lot of money to do it, but worth it if you value the fuel economy. I am at the point of needing a new timing belt and intend to do that, and at the same time, take the head off and make some improvements on the air flow side of things. I have done some work on a spare head that I have verified myself with a crude vacuum gauge. I will post up some pictures once I get it done.
