Air conditioning issue - Fiesta

Featured Replies

Please help. I have a Fiesta 21 plate - 1.0 Eco Boost ST Line and I am having issues with my air conditioning unit. I have had the condenser changed in Jul 24 and also the compressor Jul 25 but it still does not work. The garage has said that I need another condenser. I am dumbfounded that a condenser life is only 12 months old.
Is there anyone else having Air Con issues? Any advice would be most welcome. Thank you.

Has the AC gas definitely leaked out again?

Condensers are right at the front of the car so they generally break from 70mph stones piercing them on the motorway.  Not a fault of the manufacturing.  But you would have to be unlucky for two to fail so close together.

Generally it's low battery that stops the AC working on such new Fiestas, hence my question about the gas level.

It's also maybe advisable to take it to a specialist A/C workshop rather than your local garage. They will have the proper equipment & experience to diagnose the fault, and follow up with a repair... (If your current garage states you need another condenser they should be able to point out the visible fault with your current one, usually some brown staining where A/C gas has leaked out)

It is very likely on a 2021 Fiesta that the problem is the car battery has a low State Of Charge 'SOC'

If the battery level is below 70% then the AC will not function correctly, and possibly will not work at all.

Certainly worth checking out the battery voltage before spending more money on the a/c, if only for elimination purposes.

Mine must be ok, been out in the car this morning and it was positively glacial in there! (It's over 31°C outside here at the mo!)
