Anti roll bar ball joint help? Which part is it please?

Featured Replies

Last year my car went for MOT and there was an advisory notice that said near side front anti roll bar ball joint slight play. It’s due mot in 3 weeks I’ve heard it’s easy to change but when googling it’s showing me people are saying it’s either 2 different parts would someone please point me the right direction I have taken photos. I’m not sure if it’s the anti roll bar itself or the suspension ball joint. Thank you so much. Welcome!
AFAIK, they mean the long vertical rod with the ball joint at each end.
It's fixed to the anti-roll bar at the bottom and the suspension strut at the top.
The other ball joint is the track rod end which goes to the steering rack.

However if it was an advisory it may still not need changing but it is a relatively cheap part (suggest not paying Ford price, do QH or other decent supplier)

Brilliant Thank you so much I was hoping it was that part as it’s cheap and kinda easy to fix. I like to fix things as need be as it’s an old car so try keep on top it as much as I can as I don’t  have no money for a New on lol. And I love my little car🤣 just double checking so it’s this below. IMG_0932.thumb.jpeg.a0d4c6d5a0f18d383e48f8a9bb9cd585.jpegIMG_0930.thumb.jpeg.9f11ffdf08a44a3d654b8609757de820.jpeg

Hi, yes that's the correct part. Also known as an anti-roll bar drop link. Symptoms of bad one is a rattle noise over bumpy ground. Like most things with suspension you are better doing both sides of the at the same time.

Brill thank you  I will defo do both. Thanks so much.

No worries, if you haven't ordered already I would recommend Meyle HD drop links. You can usually get a pair for around £25-30 from Ebay and they are as good as if not better than the Ford ones for a quarter of the price 👍
