Cambelt change price ?

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

Engine is the 1.4 petrol 16 valve engine and not a wet belt ford effort.

Decided to see about getting our timing belt/water pump etc renewed, this is my first quote from a garage, what you think ?

That is very cheap indeed. So much so that I would be a bit wary.   Mine is in at the moment having belts and water pump done by an independent garage at a cost of £900. I had a quote from the local Ford garage for £1800.

Worth stating this is for a conventional dry belt, not a 1.0 EcoBoost with wetbelts.

Quote looks acceptable to me.

Yes  bog standard 1.4 petrol.

That's about what the cost ended up being for mine, 1.6L.  I supplied the parts, so only paid the labour charge.

I'd say that was a fair price. 👍

Yes, seems about par for the course for a "dry" belt at an independent.

You could of course have a stab at it yourself, there's at least one YT guide, but £400 + vat inc  parts seems very fair.
