Focus Performance Blue Touch Up

Featured Replies

Is Performance Blue still available as a touch-up kit from Ford? Need some for my 2010 Focus ST

Ordered a new one last year but was supplied Spirit Blue and some confusion on the web if this is the correct match or not. Spirit a blue seems less metallic. They do have finis numbers as below:

Performance Blue: 1777559

Spirit Blue: 1771683

To add to confusion I found Performance Blue listed by Fordonline with finis 2584240, then the details on another sellers listing say it’s not compatible with Ford Performance Blue??

My car is listed as "Performance Blue, Metallic" on ETIS, and in 2012, my touch up pencil was 1320168 - and cost me £6.00 - how much now I wonder !

When I recently wanted a Magenta touch up, for another car, a local accessory shop did it, and that was good.

Paint can be fun, as when I went there for a Range Rover colour (not for me I hasten to add !), we had a choice of three masquerading under the same name!

This is interesting. Not one I remember seeing before.

Colorado Red was renamed Race Red.

Absolute Black was renamed Shadow Black.

So Ford do rename colours. There are also slightly different shades within each colour name, so even two with the same name aren't necessarily a perfect match.

The fact that Spirit Blue is still called Performance Blue in the German translation would suggest they are the same colour. But if you want a perfect match then may better to get some custom mixed by a paintshop?

That’d be a great help thanks ☺️

If plan B is needed I can get some mixed up or go for one of the online paint sellers 👍

This is what I have :

But I still have this - after over 14 years !

I'm sorry to say that I did eventually find the paint, but it has completely dehydrated, probably due to being about 20 years old.....

I bought it in 2006 !

Sorry to let you down.

No problem, at that age it’s to be expected. Appreciate the offer all the same 👍

I’ll see about activating plan B

Small downside the paint sticks have dropped from 18ml to 9ml 🙄

It's called "Shrinkflation"........

But at least you have some.
