Ford Ka - Girl In Distress

Featured Replies

Hi there please help!

I have a well oved ford ka 1999. Just when its freezing outside all the switched under my radio - fog, rear window demister, aircon, blower have all stopped working. They are all on the same panel located under the radio/cd player. I've checked the small fuses and they all look ok. What can i check next - got my dads help whos pretty handy...

thanks for helping me ..

Hi Rhi93

suggest you check fuse f12 and also earth points this should be on left hand side of drivers footwell.

Rhi

Hi Rhi93

far as i can see this fuse should sort all your problems.

however you could check fuses F2 - 10amp & F17 - 10amp

Dear Tom,

There may be something else you could answer. I have lost one of my car keys - the key I have has a red mark on the plastic part - Looking at my manual it tells me I can reset a pair of keys - do you know if I have to go to a ford dealer or can I call a locksmith? sorry to bother you but you've been so helpful.

Rhi

Hi Rhi93

sorry never had that problem so don't know.

but if you ask in the general ford discussions section maybe someone will be able to help.

thanks Tom this was useful. what a performance just to get a car key... have a number of options but most seem to be expensive - that'll teach me to look after my spare key!... Will post another question regarding the blower as fuses appear to be good.

Rhi

Hi Rhi

sorry did not post these earlier but had problems with my printer scanner.

wiring dagrams attached.
