Tailgate Issues And Starting Probs

HI I've got a C-max 2ltr TDI and up until recently I've been really pleased with it. I now seem to have developed two problems firstly the tailgate keeps opening as soon as I put the key in or even when driving along......as you can appreciate this is worrying and any tips would be grateful as I need to get it sorted.

My second problems is my car has failed to start twice now, it seems to turn over all the lights flash when turning the key, I park on a slope most nights but it will only start again when I can get the car on a flat bit of road????

To say I'm confused with both of these is an understatement so any help or advice is welcome

    there is a multiplug on the n/s/r behind the carpet/c-pillar trim, that might be the problem if water has gotten in, for the boot opening

    how ever the non-starting do u park with the engine pointing up the hill/slope or with the engine pointing down the hill/slope?
