Ford Fiesta Mk6 Fog Lights

Featured Replies

I own a 2008 Ford Fiesta Mk6 (Facelift) 1.4 TDCi to which I intend to fit some front fog lights.

I have replaced the Headlight/Foglight switch and the warning lights work in the cluster on the dashboard.

The wiring for the fog lights is obviously there behind the switch, but it disappears into the wiring loom with no obvious point of exit where it is supposed to connect to the fog lights.

Does anyone know if I have to purchase another part of the wiring loom for this modification?

I have carried out this modification on previous Fiesta's I have owned without having this problem so any advice would be appreciated.

Looks like you need this

Crazy price for a cable and a few connectors

Yes I noticed that on Ebay and is well over priced.

What I find difficult to understand is that the wiring is present at the multi-connector at rear the of the Headlight/Foglight switch, then it disappears into the loom, but I cannot find an exit point.

It obviously is connected to power as the warning lights work on the dashboard. If I could find where the connections are supposed to be I can wire them without any problem, and at a fraction of the cost of purchasing the extra wiring loom?

This extra loom has to connect somewhere - but where is the question?

The cable appears to have a pin which fits a multipin bulkhead connector, if you can trace the headlamp wiring back (from the lights) to a bulkhead connector I'm sure you'll be very close to finding where it connects.

Thanks for that!

I was thinking that perhaps it may connect to the loom somewhare within the engine compartment, but you could be right? Maybe the wiring goes through the bulkhead and into the multi-pin connector behind the switch?

I'll check it out later in the week.

:D I have finally managed to find the wiring for the front fog lights.

 I traced the Green/White wire which goes through the bulkhead, and after removing the right headlight unit, 'Bingo' found the fog light connector.

This is well hidden behind the headlight unit and is difficult to find without removal. There is not one of these behind the left hand headlight unit, but I can now at least connect both fog lights to the existing connector.

 Hope this helps anyone who is having similar problems?

When i fitted my fog lights, the wiring was already there behind the blanking plates. Strange that it seems missing on yours.

Yes, it is very strange.

I have done this modification before on an earlier MK6 I owned without any problem and, as you mentioned, the wiring was already behind the blanking plates.

Ah well! I will just have to make up a wiring loom to connect the 2 fogs to the one connector?
