hi i have just got this great car with only 30k and an engine problem

it has a rattle more of a tick( like a tappet) coming from the rocker cover on the right side ,

it gets louder under load and faster with the revs,

but have had the cams and shims all out checked clearance's and all measurments and everything looks fine

then put the engine back together with the steering/ water pump ect not conected and is a little quiter but put that down to less load on the engine

any surgestions welcome as running out of ideas

Is the oil feed getting to that part of the cam? Check there isn't a blockage.

Thanks for the reply but I had the head of today and the piston Walls need replacing the head is all pitted where it's been hit and now looking for a new block and head

Need to find out what engines I can strap in.

Hey people need some advice before i spend a whole loada money on something That might not work,

I'm currently hunting around for a new engine well just the block and head and need to know the differences between the engines with these Engine numbers HXDA HXJA HXDB

As if it's just a diff air box or something like that it will be fine as Iv got the original,

The engine will be going in a 2006 55 focus 1.6 ghia if that makes any odds
