Ford Fiesta Mk6 Key Question

Featured Replies

Hi,

Im new to this forum and i don't know if this is the right place to post my question. (Sorry if its not)

Anyway i have a 2007 mk6 Ford Fiesta tdci and last week i have my main keyfob stolen. The cars and everything in it was still there when i checked it. But now im worried about the security of it in the future knowing my key is out there somewhere.

I rang my local Ford dealer about my problem and they told me that they can delete the programming of the stolen key and program a new key and re-program my spare key. I thought that i would have to get the locks replaced swell but the service advisor assured me that once the stolen key is deleted form the programming that it cant be used to get in to or start the car?

Is this right or has be made a mistake?

John.

They can un-programme the original key, but they would still be able to unlock the doors. They wouldn't be able to start the car.
