hi to all i am new to this site and if anyone can help me i would be very grateful,i have just rebuilt my engine,but when it came to torquing the flywheel the manual starts with 1st stage 18 nm, 2nd stage angle tighten 45 degrees, 3rd stage angle tighten 45 degrees, also the same thing on the head bolts, stage 1.10 nm, stage 2.100 nm,stage 3.unscrew No 1 bolt 180 degrees,tighten No 1 bolt 70 nm,further tighten No 1 bolt 120 degrees,then repeat stage 3 with the remaining bolts,what the hell dose that lot mean????,i have an ordinary torque wrench,do i need to get a special one or could someone tell me how to do it using the one i have got,thanks for reading this topic and having the patience with me for not having a clue to what it means, Tep.

I cant comment on the figures but it does sound correct procedure. you need to get yourself one of these.

tighten the bolts tight with your ratchet, (stage 1)then start with the first bolt with your torque wrench and turn it approx 18mm / 20mm go through all the bolts like that, (stage 2) then go back to the first bolt and do a 1/4 of a turn with the torque wrench, (stage 3)then go back to the first bolt again and repeat stage 2.

Hope you've used new bolts as they will be well tight.
