Black Smoke When Accelerating

Hi guys,

I recently purchased a Mondeo 2.0 TDCI 06 reg and when gearing up i notice puffs of black smoke until i have reached a crusing speed....Is this normal & also when i rev it up when stationery - a black cloud will form...Please advise...

it could be the egr valve that requires removing and cleaning, it could also be a split intercooler pipe which is the big pipe on the bottom of the egr valve. both are common problems and could cause black smoke.

hi have u tried flying up the motorway i know most deisel cars if they are only used around town they tend to get choked up so people need to drive up the motorway before u do this put some redex for deisels into deisel tank
