Fiesta Zetec 1.4 2006 - ABS light on, speedo & odometernot working

Featured Replies

My wife started her Fiesta car this afternoon and found the ABS & handbrake lights on, the odometer showed '------' and the speedo needle bounced across to 8000rpm before settling back almost immediately to zero. Then 10 seconds later the engine management light came on too.

Contrary to a couple of simlar posts, the car runs perfectly, with no obvious brake issues (although I haven't wanted to road-test the ABS!!), and has run faultlessly until today!

There are several other similar posts, with some also metioning performance problems too. Does anyone know for sure whether the solutions these posts suggest work? For instance am I best to focus on this being an ABS module/wiring problem, or a speed sensor problem or something else.?

The thought of spending weeks at the mercy of the Ford dealer without giving them a 'clue' is not very appealing!
