Perihelion Posted January 31, 2009 Share Posted January 31, 2009 My mk6.5 Fiesta 1.6 TDCI develops an intrusive rattle as engine speeds close to idle. At idle it is OK, but depress the clutch, it starts clattering. The noise sounds to be coming from under the dash towards centreline. Anyone got any ideas? So, I was looking under the bonnet and heard a similar but quieter noise. Pressing down on the engine cover (with TDCI) moulded in, made it go away. Got someone to sit in the drivers seat "dashboard rattle" goes away. A chock under the front edge of the cover did the trick.
