Remap Focus Mk2 1.8 Tdci

If the mapper is good then ask him not to max it out and you'll be fine 👍

My 1.8 tdci is sitting at 168bhp from a remap running more boost so turbo kicks in lower revs drives sweet

Thanks guys, was thinking a " safe " map like its quick as it is but just want that little bit more.

Another recommended mapper is Celtic tuning just google it they do a tuning box programmed for your car to plug n unplug as you please also do the remap.

there based in Plymouth I think but they travel to you just wait until get so many cars to do in your area and then book you in. They have good power gains also

If I was you I'd start by cleaning the intake manifold and check that the engine is running properly first as the 1.8 tdci is getting old and is probably choking up with carbon

If the EGR hasn't spent most of it's life blanked then it will be choked with carbon (although this isn't an "issue" specific to this engine more diesels in general).

This was the state of my inlet manifold

With under 45.000 miles on 2006 focus

That's exactly what mine looked like...the joys of having an EGR on a diesel.

Hey guys looking for advice I’m looking to do a stage 2 on my 1.8tdci titanium spoken to many remapping specialists and they seem to think the car will run completely fine with the usual induction uprated intercooler and better exhaust system I’m just wondering iff anyone has done a stage 2 and if they had any issues or if it was even worth it

I don't recall seeing any posts on here from anyone that's ever gone for stage on this engine.  The engine is considered to be pretty much bombproof although the inlet does rather limit the amount of air that can be sucked in which is usually the limit when it comes to tuning this engine.
