2001 Fiesta stiff locks

Featured Replies

Hello, just wanted some advice about how to fix 'stiff locks'. The locks work fine, but on the driver's side, the lock is very rigid and a lot of force is needed to unlock the electric locks which is unusual. It almost feels like something is crunching when I try to unlock it (so I'm using the passenger side instead).

Does anyone know what causes this or how to fix it without replacing the lock?

Thanks

WD40 probably wont fix it. I'd suggest the connection between the lock barrel and the door lock is either sticking or coming disconnected. Take the door card off and get some decent grease in there. WD40 would ease it but it wears off quickly. With it being in use daily you need some heavier lubrication.

you need some heavier lubrication.

Uhmmm...
