3Rd And 4Th Hard To Select

Featured Replies

hi. first time user. i have a 55 plate diesel mondeo. we've just bought it to lease as a taxi. 5th and 6th had to be rammed in. now there fine and its 3rd and 4th now. checked the cables and there all fine. if we slam it in 3rd you have to rag it out of gear. this is when its hot or cold weather. any ideas?

does it crunch when going in and out of 3rd and 4th?

have you checked the gearbox oil level?

It doesn't make a noise. You have to ram it to get it in then it get stuck. It started with 5/6 now it's 3/4. Checked the cables and there fine

poss gear selector ring in gearbox or check the gear linkage on bottom of gear stick itself
