Took my dpf off too. Got the replacement pipe with the car.

    Once again thanks for your responses! I'll blank off the EGR and look to have the DPF gutted and the ECU remapped.

    I have a 2007 mondeo edge 1.8 estate(petrol) and have just been quoted £361 to change the egr valve. Is this reasonable? and can you blank it off on these models. ?? Cheers.

    very unusual to have egr fault on the 1.8 duratec egr valve. is the garage certain the egr is faulty.

    £361 seems excessive. £60 for a brand new egr valve on ebay and 10 minutes to fit( 2 bolts and a coolant hose clip)

    The diagnostic machine said so. And they reckon 2-3 hours to do it.

    2-3 hrs!!!! maybe for a diesel 2.0 or 2.2 , but 10 mins for petrol 1.8.

    open the bonnet and look for it, pull the engine cover off and look on right rear corner of engine . you will see it. official labour time is 36 minutes.
    only exception is the 1.8 sci engine and thats an extra hour

    Is it that thing with the black cap.? Defo not 2-3 hrs to replace that.

    yep, thats it, just the air intake off out tge way, pull the coolant hose off, and 2 bolts .
