2.5T Alternator

Featured Replies

Hi all, I've recently been having an issue with a whining drive belt, when further investigated the belt was changed sept last year , the tension on it is good also, a mechanically minded friend reckoned it was a bearing in the alternator, there is no warning lights or loss of electricity just a very anoying whine especially when cold, does anyone know if the Volvo alternator will fit as they seem far cheaper than the ford option

Thanks

Mark

Ive got the same whine noise, when starting engine when hot,and shutting off. Think im gonna put an upgraded freewheel pulley on mines. reduces noise substantially ive heard

Going to have it properly diagnosed , have been reading through many ford sites and it could be any number of faults! I'm hoping for a split turbo pipe as that sounds the cheapest lol
